GST/VAT Rate Error: TargetInvocationException

Issue / Error Message:

When opening a forecast, the following error occurs:

 

TargetInvocationException

Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

NullReferenceException

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

   at Forecast5.Model.Record.get_SalesTaxRate()

   at Forecast5.Model.PnLRecord.Calculate(Currency currency, Budget budget)

   at Forecast5.Model.Calculator.Calculate(BudgetDependedCalculatable cal, IEnumerable`1 currenices, IEnumerable`1 budgets)

   at Forecast5.Model.Record.Calculate(Boolean calculateReferencing, Boolean calculateSystemRecords)

   at Forecast5.Model.CustomizableRecord.Calculate(Boolean calculateParent)

   at Forecast5.Model.CustomizableRecord.EntityCreated()

   at Forecast5.Model.ForecastEntity.Save()

   at Forecast5.Model.CostsRecord..ctor(Node node)

 

Solution:

If the error above occurs go to settings, select GST rates and make one of the rate the default - normally 15% for NZ.

If the issue repaets the problem may be related to a miss conversion.
