How to remap integration code to a forecast set up without the integration import

If you have create a forecast with an integration but you did not import the data using the integration, the records will not be mapped to your chosen integrations GL Codes so importing data will not work.

You can correct this using the steps below;
  1. Export a copy of your existing forecast so you have a backup if any mistakes are made.
  2. Open a blank Excel sheet.
  3. Open your existing forecast.
  4. Go to Utilities and Export Records Details.
  5. Once the export has completed, paste into the excel sheet.
  6. Now, create a new forecast with your chosen integration.
  7. Go to Utilities > Settings and connect to the Xero company you want to map.
  8. Click Import the data, map only the Fixed Asset and corresponding Depreciation code together, the Forecast records (or you can do this at step 14) and the Main Bank Account. The rest can be imported.
  9. Import the data.
  10. Once that has imported, re-open the forecast.
  11. Go to Utilities and Export Records Details.
  12. Once the export has completed, paste into the same excel sheet above but on a new tab.
  13. In this latest export, you will see column K (and potentially L and M) will be populated with a code.
  14. This is the code that will map your Forecast record to your Xero GL Account.
  15. Now you will need to map this code to your first Records Details export you did.
We recommend mapping using the GL Codes (column D) to ensure you are allocating the correct records.
Ensure you map columns K, L and M to the same location, e.g., if on a separate tab, it should also be columns K, L and M.
If you haven’t mapped the Forecast Records, you will need to search or map using the GL account name.
  16. Once you have completed your mapping, copy all columns (A to M) to clipboard.
  17. Go to your existing forecast.
  18. Go to Utilities and click Import Record Details
  19. Once the import has completed, you have now mapped the integration to your existing forecast.
You can delete the newly created forecast.
